Do Business Downtown!
The Place to Do Business

There's been a steady influx of business, investment, and entertainment flowing into downtown since about 1999, when the real push for downtown Reno redevelopment began. It started with the construction of the Riverside Theater in 1999, and since then dozens of entertainment, beautification, and residential projects have come to call downtown home. So why set up shop in downtown Reno?
- In the past year alone, over $90,000,000 has been invested into the business districts of downtown Reno.
- The downtown office market is experiencing a steady decrease in vacancy rates.
- The amount of foot traffic downtown has increased significantly over the past two years due to large-scale projects such as the whitewater park, the downtown events center, an ever-expanding University of Nevada Reno, the downtown Ballroom, ReTRAC, the narrowing of Virginia Street to be more pedestrian friendly, and the completion of major residential projects.
- The improvements to downtown keep happening, and set to happen in the next two years:
- Baseball! Downtown Reno broke ground on a AAA Baseball Stadium located on Evans and 2nd, along with several retail projects within the district.
- Covering of two blocks of the ReTRAC trench downtown.
- Completion of the Montage on 2nd and Sierra.
- Massive gateway art to be installed on parcel where Savoy Motel formerly stood
- Several new beautification projects, including a pilot facade improvement program on Virginia Street between 2nd Street and Commercial Row.
- Expansion of the whitewater park
- Acquisition of the downtown post office and construction of a new river plaza where the current post office parking lot is.
- Construction of retail at 10 North Virginia with a Lake Tahoe restaurant tentatively in on the project
- Downtown is the main priority for an aggressive, effective Redevelopment Agency that has a stellar track record of bringing projects downtown since its inception.
